It's National Napping Day!

National Napping Day 2017

Yes, that's right folks, in a world where every other day seems to be a national day for something or other,we now have access to national nap day. But what is it all about? Generally these types of things have ideas and reasons behind them so lets take a little look at why the bachelor says national nap day is going to be a huge success.

The Power Of Napping

I subscribe to this guy that calls himself the Skill Collector, I read a lot of his emails and follow the link to his website, there was one that stuck out in my mind though and i actually went ahead and tried it. It was about the power of naptime and nap benefits.

He stated that sleeping for 2 hours at a time, 3 times a day you would have an extra 2 hours of time to be more efficient. 2 hours of sleeping isn't really counted as a nap though so the idea was further expanded on.

He went on to say that having 20 minute power naps every 2 hours could really enhance your productivity. It just tends to get in the way.

At the time i tried to use the 2 hour method and somehow, it really works! I was quite surprised that even though i was getting 2 hours less sleep a day i was still feeling just as good as i normally would. Most of us dont have the time to be sleeping while we're at work so is impractical for most people. I was working between four different jobs so it ended up being quite perfect for me.

Top Tips For Napping

The Huffington Post has an article about 13 top tips for napping. I'm only going to talk about my favorite two but you can follow the link for the rest.

1. Find a Happy Nap Place

Finding the right spot can help you drift off more easily, somewhere warm and quiet will generally do the trick. Cross your arms and drift off.

2. Timing Is Everything

Have some caffeine before you have your nap. A quick cup of coffee 10-20 minutes before you start your little power nap will improve your alertness hen you wake up. Caffeine can take up to 20 minutes to start taking effect so when you wake up, not only are you refreshed from having a nap but the caffeine improves alertness overall making you a more efficient human being.

So there we have it, naps are great, and they are healthy for you too so arm yourself with the knowledge and go tell the nay sayers!

“The four of us had been in the music business for eight years and we were frustrated. We were saying: ‘Well, maybe we should go to college and just become lawyers or something other than music, because it really is tough,’” In an interview with the worlds best newspaper, The Guardian Jodi had said this.

Their biggest hit would strike one month later with their infectious super anthem which still has a place in today clubs and discos. The song celebrated their sisterhood  but not only that women the world over were able to celebrate empowerment and were able to unify like they had never been able to before.

The Sledge sisters had another hit with a cover of Mary Wells' "My Guy"

They last performed together in October for a concert. Joni leaves behind an adult son, her sisters, plus other relatives. Not only that she leaves behind a great legacy. Joni Sledge of the Sledge Sisters, we salute you.
